hope you’re all still here
I hope you’ve all made the move to my new blog ok! I’ve got a new URL and a new feed, and I’ve officially ditched RapidWeaver in favor of Blogger. The RealMac folks (makers of RW) seem like nice enough people, and the bug I was experiencing was not common and is going to be very hard for them to figure out. No one has been able to reliably reproduce it yet. I don’t want to put them down too much, or convince anyone who is happy with it currently to give it up, but there were a few things about it nagging at me, and having all my entries erased was the last straw for me.
I’m pretty happy with Blogger so far. I write entries online rather than in a separate app, which has its plusses and minuses, but it’s not something that will seal the deal for me over another blogging solution. I don’t have to use Haloscan, which wins big points over RW, although I understand RW has plans to add support for other commenting systems. I can use images for blog categories, which I probably only like because my original blog worked that way, but hey… I really like it. So here we are.
I’m supposed to be on a flight to Copenhagen, but my flight to Atlanta was delayed several (six at last check) hours. The next flight isn’t until tomorrow, and the next direct flight isn’t until Monday. We are opting for the direct, and getting a bit more time with my fam. They don’t mind. I’m hoping I can fit in another visit to Pier Park, because there’s a BW3s and I’ve been craving. I had no idea PC had a BW3s, but you only have to tell me once for me to want to go there. Mom says she’s not into chicken wings so I’m trying to convince my brother he wants to take me.
why am I awake?
Just when I thought I had this jetlag thing conquered, I am totally awake at 3:30 am.
The upside for you guys is that I’m around to give an update. So here you go.
We’ve been in Florida for about a week. The flight went well. I’ve eaten Chik-fil-A, biscuits n’ gravy, and overly cheesy pasta. I’ve had copious quantities of ginger ale and root beer. I’ve had no need for a jacket even though it’s almost Christmas. All the stores are having massive blow-out sales, and I’ve basically acquired an entire new wardrobe for about $200, all of which was paid for by other people. Things could definitely be going worse.
Yet all of this is currently overshadowed by the sad fact that I have “You’re the Best” by Joe Esposito in my head before 4 am. I just had to watch The Karate Kid, didn’t I?
